Brand New Semester

Well, I'm back!
Basically, I survived finals and made it home to Oregon for Christmas. There were A LOT of people there to celebrate it with, but it was a really good time. The whole two weeks that I was home, I was dreading having to come back to Utah...I loved seeing how big my nieces and nephews had gotten, and they were just barely getting to know me again when I had to come back to school. :(
But alas, it was a wonderful Christmas break and a great way to get away from the usual day-to-day in Provo. However, I'm back. I've taken on a full load of Sociology classes, which, despite my brother's advice, has become my major once again. There just isn't anything else that interests me as much!
Anyway, I've got new classes, and I think that my Socialization of Gender is going to be my favorite, I've loved it so far! It's nice being back with the family that I nanny...the boys got so big while I was gone! Also, the parents have offered for me to take a little trip to Israel, so I just might do that....
I don't know that there is much more going on...just work and classes, and that keeps me pretty busy. Until next time!

Hell Week Continues...

I'm sorry, I don't know why I did it all so pink.
I have so much homework to do, but once again, I sit here fiddling with my little blogspot. I can't figure out how to do it quite yet, and it's a bit frustrating.
My car is at the mechanic's, she went in this morning and I may not get her tomorrow even. Steve, my new mechanic, said that there was a vacuum leak that could be hiding other problems, so he needed to seal that before being able to do another diagnostic to see if my carborator can/needs to be fixed.
Today was crazy busy, but the good news is - I'm headed back to Oregon in just eight days! I'll probably miss the snow, but maybe not the cold so much.
On Monday night, my friends Whitney and Megan went with me to the library and in the parking lot, Whitney started to slip...so naturally, she grabbed onto to both me and Megan to steady her balance on the icey blacktop - she fell. Not only did she fall, but since I wouldn't allow her to take me down with her, Megan and her fell together. I really truly can't remember the last time that I laughed so hard. I was just so happy that I wasn't a part of that royal mess in the middle of the parking lot at night. That would be totally embarrassing!
I took my Marriage Prep final last night, and I did pretty well, which means that I'll get a B in the class, and considering that I was out of school for over two weeks (while in Europe), anything passing really would be acceptable.
My friend Jessica Maughan is having an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party on Saturday night and I think Jillie and I are going to go to D.I. to pick up some ugly Christmas sweaters.
Merry Christmas and Happy Finals to you suckers who are still at it!
.......don't worry, I am too.........

Finals Week, as dreaded, has actually come.

Monday night - the hell has already begun. And the beautiful cherry on top is that my car is officially not being very nice to me. I am taking her into a trusted mechanic on Wednesday morning, so I guess that's when the real estimate, verdict, comes in.
Life is pretty hectic right now, my schedule has been crazy - and yet I manage to squeeze in time to write on this thing. Yesterday, my friend Whitney provided two meals for me, just cause she's nice! She also brought me peppermint ice cream...she might be under the impression that I'm dying.
Two weeks from today is Christmas and I am not prepared! But I'm just going to take each day at a time, I'll buy my gifts in Oregon anyway, that way I don't have to pay taxes.
So, I went and saw the movie "School for Scoundrels" the other night. John Heder, Napoleon Dynamite, BYU Alumni, said bad words and was in his underwear! I'm allowed to swear because I'm not representing the Church on the big screen. :)
But he is! The whole theater (dollar theater in Provo, my guess is that 97% of the audience was Mormon college students) gasped every time he swore. John Heder, you've disappointed us.

Finals, ugh

I feel like every blog should get a picture and since I don't have any recent/cute pictures of myself or my friends, I thought I would post a picture of one of my other best friends. He might be nine months old, but he's always a good friend and always my cuddle buddy, a necessary trait to be a friend of mine :)
My other great friend is his brother, he's three. Don't worry, friends come in all sizes and shapes.
Well,
Finals are coming up within these next two weeks and I am not excited. Nope.
I'm supposed to be studying right now, but I can't concentrate for several reasons, one of which being that I realized that my little bloggers, who I'm sure consist of only family; haven't heard from me in a few days.
So ya'll, here's the update:
*I took my car into the shop today because she keeps dying on me and was given the advice to replace the carborater, which is at least 350 bones down the drain. But I guess it's not really down the drain if she is going to remain a reliable source of transportation. If not, than I'm screwed because I don't have any money and I don't qualify for a loan to get a new car, so I'm pretty much stuck with my little Flik until Santa gives me a baby with a better engine. Either way, I'm grateful that this car has been running for me and getting me up to Draper every day. That's a long drive.
*My wonderful sister Ash gave me bangs, and I'm obsessed with them.
*I ran into Sally on campus today and just seeing her put me in a good mood. She's one of those good friends that even if you hadn't seen her in a few years, you could just pick up where you left off because she's that cool and you feel that comfortable around her.
*I convinced Laura Jannsen that I have an illegitimate child, so I'm pretty sure that my old high school friends are going to be shocked by that news. That will be a fun rumor.
*I love Facebook. If you don't have it, get it. It's an amazing way to pry into your friends' lives.

I'm so sorry that this blog is messy and rambling, I really am just avoiding studying. I guess I should do it now. :(

This is a picture of me and the boys that I nanny. Cal is three and baby Martin is nine months. I've actually been working for Jamie and Josh (parents) for six months today! They've been great to me, they're gonna make me a world traveler. Just this year, I've hit up Italy, Turkey and Greece. Next year I have plans for China and who knows where else? I think Africa would be amazing! I woke up this morning for a migraine in the first time in a few years. After a long nap, a lot of asprin, several prayers and a cold washcloth on my forehead - it finally left me. Jamie was nice enough to understand, so I didn't have to go play with the boys until later today. When I did, Cal and I went out and built our first snowman of the season. He's about the same height as Martin, sitting down. He's not very big, but he's a snowman.

This time last year, I went tubing down this giant hill with my ward. I love the snow. People never really get it when I tell them
that it didn't snow that much where I came from, if at all. I remember when I lived in Oregon, we would always say "Just this many more degrees and it will be able to snow". Yeah, it never got very cold! I got up the other morning and it was twelve degrees outside. Yep, twelve. I'm pretty sure that it's too cold to snow. But it's okay because I love wearing coats, scarves and beanies.

I know that that is a lot of information for you to take in, but I just want this blog to show who I truly am. So, here's goes.
My favorite colour is yellow. I love my bed, I can't have enough blankets. I love the cold, the snow, Christmas, this whole season is my favorite. I love late nights and Grey's Anatomy. My friends are an amazing support group for me, they will never fully understand how much I depend upon them. I love country music, studying it is kind of my hobby. I love the gospel, I truly believe in paying your tithing and have a newfound obsession with the Book of Mormon. My little Mac makes me laugh, she reminds me of the good in me. Ash and I have become closer since we now have children of the same ages to discuss. Amber, Melody, Cole, Sally, Megan - none of them compare to my mom, but I still love them. I can't wait to be pregnant, big boobs and eating lots - it's all I ever wanted.
I can honestly say that I'm happier now that I can ever remember. I know that when you're living your life the way that you should be, you'll be blessed. I have been so blessed. I am grateful for the opportunity to be in my junior year at BYU, even though I have no idea what I'm studying. I'm thankful to be here and to be able to study.
I like to be politically correct. I know that it's a cliche, but it's true. So don't say anything offensive or stereotypical around me because that will get me really fired up.
I love tinfoil dinners, ketchup, Dreyer's Peppermint Icecream, sleepovers, Christmas trees, water, gelato, blue pens, and my cell phone.
Is that enough random information? I assure you, I have more. :)

Also, Amber would like for me clarify by saying "Heather's kissed 56 guys and then some...since I've known her." I will not deny that statement. :)

Something about me.

There are some people you will never forget. These girls were my freshman roommates and two years later, we're still good friends. I don't know how I ever would have made it through college without Jen Jen, Melissa, Amber and Jillie. My Utah sisters.
I love McKenna, but...well, I love Curly.

Let me explain to you a little about college. It is a lot of fast food, late nights, studying, laughing until your stomach hurts, crying until your eyes are dry and meeting some of your favorite people in the world. This happened to be a very long night, because we didn't think that drinking that much Dr. Pepper would not allow us to sleep. So, we danced - naturally.

I know that it's starting to sound like I have a ridiculous number of best friends - but it's true. So here's one more. The friend that I've had since the sandbox...or treehouse, where we played A LOT of Barbies, and my cousin, Sally. Once again, headless fish. We love fishing. Fatty and I (that's what I call her because she's super skinny) used to do Girls Camp together, so we know how to tough it out more than any other girls I know. Seriously, we should be on Survivor. She's a hoot!

This is another one of me and Miss Megan. We're not as outdoorsy as we thought we were. But at least I would go into the Pacific Ocean, Megan, you pansy!

I can't really emphasize how weird we are together.

Amber is one of my best friends. I actually think of her more as a wife. We fight and fight and fight - but we just can't stay away from each other. We originally were roommates in the dorms in '04 and have lived together ever since. She hates country, is messy, doesn't work...we're complete opposites and I think that that might be why we get along so well. Oh yeah, and we went to Europe together. Amazing!

This is also one of my best friends, Miss Megan. We met last summer while living at Liberty Square and haven't really been able to shake each other off since. Isn't she just the cutest?! She makes me laugh and we're similar in a lot of ways.

I just love bachelorette parties! I'm only twenty, but all of my friends are getting married...which kinda makes me feel pressured - but I'll pretend like it doesn't bother me.

Something you should know about me. I love music. Mainly country, but I can get into some groovy dance hits or Christmas. However, those of you who REALLY know me are well aware of my obsession with Jo Dee Messina. I just saw her for my fourth time in May, and it was wonderful. This is a picture of the back of my head while I enjoy the amazing concert. This is right after she held my hand. Ohmigosh, I love her.

This is a picture of me and my niece, Lyzie. She's a little devil, but she's just so damn cute that it doesn't really matter! Her and her sister, Ava, don't really know who I am. But when I go home for the few weeks out of the year that I get to visit Oregon, they call me Oddie. So Heather, Sades, Oddie, or Heath - whatever floats your boat.

Basically, this is a picture of my family, or a quarter of it. My sisters Kenzie and Haleigh and me and my mom, yes, we're holding fish. The fish have no heads. I love slicing and dicing rainbow trout. I know that it's disgusting, but I love fishing.
